Prof. Dr. Struijker Boudier
 

Prof. Dr. Struijker Boudier was appointed full professor in pharmacology in 1980 at Universiteit Maastricht. From 1983-1999, he was chairman of the department of Pharmacology and Toxicologyt. In 1991 he was visiting professor at the INSERM Unit 141 at the Hôpital Lariboisière in Paris. From 1999 till October 2006 he was scientific director of CARIM. Professor Struijker Boudier is author or co-author of 15 books and more than 300 articles in the fields of cardiovascular biology and pharmacology, neuropharmacology, renal pharmacology, drug targeting and drug design.  He was / is( a.o.) :
• chairman of the Dutch Pharmacological Society (1990-1996) and
• member of the German and American Pharmacological Societies, member of  the board of the    European Federation of Pharmacological Societies and the European Council for Blood   Pressure and Cardiovascular Research.
• Member of the Scientific councils of the Dutch Heart Foundation, the Dutch Kidney   Foundation, the Dutch Medical Research Council, the Radboud Foundation, and the Dutch    Health Council and the Committee on Medicines of the Sick Fund Council.
• Consultant for several biotech and pharmaceutical companies in the USA, Japan and Europe.
He is member
• Since 1998 of the "Hollandsche Maatschappij der Wetenschappen".
• International fellow of the American Heart Association
• Doctor Honoris Causa of the University of Liege.
