The Maastricht University Hospital AZM and Aachen’s University Hospital the Klinikum are going to train German and Dutch doctors in the vascular surgery specialism. The medical authorities in North-Rhine Westphalia have approved this and the Euroregional Vascular Surgery Center (EVC) will be the first vascular surgery center of its type in the world. The new course will take four years, so that the first Euroregional vascular surgeons are ready for the labor market in 2011.
